With the incredible success of both The Hunchback of Notre Dame and The Phantom of the Opera, Universal magnate Carl Laemmle Jr. Set his studio on a course that would make his father’s company famous: that of producing the most important and significant horror films in the history of cinema. After auditioning several actors, the studio settled on the Hungarian transplant who made the role famous on the Broadway stage, Bela Lugosi. Slight touchup has been applied to the folds and some tears extending into the background. The poster still shows mild creases in some border area, toning, and smudging. But, what you’d expect to see for an ORIGINAL AUTHENTIC 70+ year old Vintage Treasure like this. Poster has been backed on a sheet of very thin masa paper. A Rare Gem of a Find!
