Giant Size Vintage Original Wizard Of Oz Mgm Movie Poster Silkscreen 5 Ft. Long
This is not typical thin paper as you would normally see on posters and you would not be able to fold this poster. The graphics are incredible so I think the process by which they did this is silkscreen or something like that. I say that because it feels a bit raised when you touch the graphics and on the reverse side of the poster (see photo) you can see the graphics coming through. There is a signature to the lower right (see photo). It was difficult to photograph this poster because of it’s size and trying to unroll such heavy stock cardboard so we had to secure it with wood and a level to help keep it in place to photograph. All the writing about the production is on the bottom of the poster under technicolor. Above MGM Children’s Matinee it says Wizard of Oz 70/287 which I believe means this one is 70 of 287 that were made. Who knows how many survived. There are some rips and tape markings along the edge (see photo) and small pieces of tape to the left of the graphics (see photo) but not bad in my opinion. My guess this was used at the theater to promote the movie. This poster would look amazing framed and may be one of a kind, truly awesome. IF YOU NEED A RUSH ON THE ITEM JUST LET ME KNOW.
