At a second meeting, Peggy presents the jazzman his friend Steve, a talented pianist in a cabaret, Ray Charles hired as arranger. But the American artist is primarily interested in the little David, too pampered by his mother, and to whom surgery could possibly give sight when his mother decided to overcome his fears and make practice.
