This is an ORIGINAL FIRST PRINTING of this poster by Charles Gesmar. With a name like Max Dearly, it’s hard to not become a heartthrob of the stage and screen. That’s why Lucien Roland renamed himself: he landed lead roles in 49 plays and films between 1903 and 1941, including Jean Renoir’s “Madame Bovary” and a 1934 version of Les Miserábles. Gesmar loved to draw his stars winking at you; in Max’s arch expression, he knows that you love him dearly. It is in B+ (slight tears at folds and bottom edge) condition and measures approximately 44 3/8 x 60 3/4 inches. Poster has been laid on linen for preservation. Note: This is NOT a reproduction.
