Vintage 1971 RARE mylar MASTERPIECE poster Miss Ultra Violet Warhol Factory
This full sized vintage original poster is a true masterpiece and is titled “Masterpiece”. It was hand screen printed on mylar (which is mirror like, some call it foil) by Four Poster People New York in 1971. The photo is by Don Acheson and stars the model Isabelle (Ulrea Violet) Dufresne holding a whip. Dufresne was a French artist, author, and colleague of Andy Warhol and was dubbed “Ultra Violet” by Warhol himself. Ultra Violet became one of Warhol’s superstars, and played multiple roles in over a dozen films between 1965 and 1974 including Midnight Cowboy which won 3 Academy Awards including best picture and best director at the 42nd Academy Awards ceremony in 1970. This poster was found in a hard, carboard poster tube with tape on one end that looked like it was from 1971. The edges appear sharp, and there are only a few small creases in the mylar by the edges. There are obviously a few areas where the paint has come off, but overall, the print is in very good condition given its age. The colors are vibrant, there are no tears, no pin holes, and no tape. There is no evidence that this was ever hung up. This poster is a true piece of art history and is RARE to find. It deserves to be framed and hung someplace special. Please review the pictures carefully and let them be your guide. We will always do our best to try and make things right. Thanks so much, and have a great day!
