Vintage 1987 FOREVER EVIL Hand Painted GHANA One of a Kind MOVIE POSTER by PAPA WARSTI. ONE-OF-A-KIND hand painted on recycled flour sack MOVIE POSTER by Ghanaian artist PAPA WARSTI for the 1987 horror film Forever Evil! Papa Warsti’s art sprung from the historical 1980s Ghana Mobile Cinema where video clubs would travel with generators & VCRs to villages without power for pop-up movie screenings. These video clubs would hire local artists to hand paint these over-the-top movie posters onto large, recycled flour sacks. Papa Warsti quickly emerged as one of the best, most prolific, well known & highly collectible of these artists! HUGE measuring approximately 36″ x 45″ with the painted image within the border of approximately 33″ x 40″. Signed by Papa Warsti with the typical references to Teshie & Accra (cities) in Ghana. Official movie poster & reference from the Internet Movie Database shown for interest. Listing is for the hand painted movie poster only. CONDITION: Significant cracking to the paint, but this adds to unique charm of this hand painted canvas sack. Some staining to the reverse, but most likely occurred prior to it being repurposed as a movie poster & does not show through to the painted side. All photos are of the ACTUAL poster you will receive and are the best indicator of condition, but you will not be disappointed! – DB Platypus.
