Window Card (14 x 22 inch) Poster advertising the 1964 closed-circuit theatrical broadcast of the Cassius Clay (Muhammad Ali) vs. Sonny Liston heavyweight rematch. This advertised fight never actually took place. Ali got a hernia in training and the rematch was postponed until 1965, making this a scarce poster for a fight that didnt take place. This is the ORIGINAL FIRST PRINTING of this poster. I was as close to Ali as any Jew from New York living in Paris could be, said William Klein, director of the early French-produced documentary Cassius Le Grand. This superbly stylized, seldom-seen poster was created in 64, for the first black-and-white release of the film in 65, which concludes with Alis refusal to go to Vietnam. It measures approximately 46 3/8 x 62 inches and is in A- condition (unobtrusive folds). Poster has been laid on linen for preservation. Note: We do NOT sell reproductions.
