Pristine vintage Charlie Chaplin Tramp lithograph – an original from rock poster artist K. Chillis, whose collectible prints are rare finds, rarer still in mint deadstock condition. Dated 1979, printed between 1979 and 1984. Not a reprint, not a reissue, not a reproduction. The imagery depicts Charlie Chaplin’s Tramp seated, slightly hunched, cane in hand, bowler hat tipped forward, caught in a moment of stillness that somehow radiates everything the character was built on: resilience, weariness, and that quiet flicker of dignity that never quite goes out. The setting feels sparse and industrial, raw wood and shadow framing the figure like a backstage corner or a forgotten room. Chillis renders him in that signature warm gold and deep brown palette, the dense crosshatch linework giving the Tramp a physical weight that straight photography never quite captured. You feel the worn coat, the rough hands, the cane as counterbalance. It’s an intimate composition, close and direct, the eyes doing most of the work.
