This is an ORIGINAL FIRST PRINTING of this poster designed by the artists Chermayeff and Geismar. Printed in 1984, it advertises the PBS Masterpiece Theatre production of 2×4 (Two by Forsyth), a set of two short stories by Frederick Forsyth. The first, “A Careful Man, ” starred Cyril Cusack and Dan O’Herlihy. The second, “Privilege, ” starred Milo O’Shea and Gayle Hunnicutt. Product description: This is a handpulled, limited edition fine art lithograph of the original poster. The vintage one-sheet was originally created in 1912 to advertise the release of. This lithograph was re-created, in 1997, on a rare antique 19th century handpulled printing press in affiliation with the American Film Institute’s “100 American Classic Movie Posters”. This is the same printing press that was used to create the vintage posters over 100 years ago. Hand drawn plates are made, one for each colour, and then the plates are hand pulled through the vintage press one colour at a time. This is the exact same method that was used to create the beautiful vintage movie posters of the past. The result is vibrant rich colours and crisp clean lines. This is a true work of art. Medium: Hand pulled lithograph – hand drawn plates are hand pulled, one colour at a time, in perfect registration on Rives BFK 100% cotton archival paper with the finest quality archival ink on a rare, hand-pulled antique French Marinoni Voirin lithography printing press.
