This is a vintage Original. French R-1972 Movie Poster – starring RITA HAYWORTH and GLENN FORD – It is not a reprint or reproduction. The poster measures 47″ x 63″. This poster is in great condition! Colors are as bright and crisp as the day it was printed. Some crinkling along top edge and in some folds, which should flatten out nicely when framed. No tears, tape or pin holes. It would be difficult to find another in this good of condition. This is a fabulous, colorful poster with perhaps the most iconic image of. Perhaps the best art of this film! Is a 1946 American film noir directed by Charles Vidor and starring Rita Hayworth in her signature role and Glenn Ford. The film is known for cinematographer Rudolph Maté’s lush photography, costume designer Jean Louis’s wardrobe for Hayworth (particularly for the dance numbers), and choreographer Jack Cole’s staging of “Put the Blame on Mame” and “Amado Mio”, sung by Anita Ellis. Over the years Gilda has gained cult classic status. In 2013, the film was selected for preservation in the United States National Film Registry by the Library of Congress as being “culturally, historically or aesthetically significant”.

Adapted from Raymond Chandler’s Farewell, My Lovely , and the very earliest Chandler adaptation to actually feature the archetypal character of private eye Phillip Marlowe — and one of the acknowledged masterpieces of film noir. Unfolded, there is a 12 30 cm. Tear which extends up from middle lower margin up above the name “MANDER” in actor credits, mended on verso with brown paper, and there are some scattered creases and minor scuffs.
