1962 Advise & Consent One Sheet Movie Poster by Saul Bass Vintage Original. Size (in): 41″ x 27″. This is a vintage original one sheet poster for the first release of the 1962 Otto Preminger directed political drama Advise & Consent. This poster was designed by the prolific award winning graphic designer Saul Bass who did many movie posters during the era along with iconic corporate logos for clients ranging from AT&T to the YMCA. This poster is folded as issued and shows a staple hole near each corner with the upper right hand corner showing a small tear at the staple hole. There are two small blue ink blots in the margin on the left edge and there is some writing on the back of the poster in blue marker. The poster displays great and is in very good condition overall. 27 x 41.5 inches Artist: Saul Bass. During his 40-year career Bass worked for some of Hollywood’s greatest filmmakers, including Alfred Hitchcock, Stanley Kubrick, Otto Preminger, Billy Wilder, and Martin Scorsese. He became well-known in the film industry after creating the title sequence for Otto Preminger’s The Man with The Golden Arm in 1955. For Alfred Hitchcock, Bass designed effective and memorable title sequences, inventing a new type of kinetic typography, for North by Northwest, Vertigo (working with John Whitney), and Psycho. Bass also designed some of the most iconic corporate logos in North America, including the original AT&T “bell” logo in 1969, as well as their later “globe” logo in 1983. He also designed Continental Airlines’ 1968 “jetstream” logo and United Airlines’ 1974 “tulip” logo which have become some of the most recognized logos of the era. Original quad movie poster (30×40) for SUCH GOOD FRIENDS (1971) directed by Otto Preminger with original artwork by the legendary Saul Bass. The poster is FOLDED and in FAIR condition. There is a tear on the upper left hand side with one inch paper loss and heavy creasing on the folds. The top white border is slightly discoloured and there are two splits on the lower border. Despite the condition the main artwork is still very strong and would look fantastic linen backed. The photographs used in this listing are of the exact poster which is for sale. We’re happy to help!
