This offering is for an antique late 19th century poster for the theater stage production of Fogg’s Ferry. The poster measures 27.5″ by 42″ and it was printed by The Enquirer Job Printing Co Cin O. The play was written by Chas E. Callahan and is appears as thought it went into production around the early 1890’s. The lithograph’s colors are bold and bright and the artwork is outstanding. The condition is as seen in our close-up photo’s. The paper is dry and brittle. There are at least a dozen or more vertical splits in the paper that have been taped at some point from the back side to stabilize them. There are also several spots from an early attempt at mounting it with tape where the tape bled through the paper as it aged. Lastly there is some typical minor loss to the edges of the borders and corners. The poster displays beautifully and will be outstanding once properly framed.
