MURDER, MY SWEET (1944). Vintage original 22 x 28 55 x 71 cm. Half sheet poster, USA. Dick Powell, Claire Trevor, Anne Shirley, dir: Edward Dmytryk; RKO. Adapted from Raymond Chandler’s Farewell, My Lovely , and the very earliest Chandler adaptation to actually feature the archetypal character of private eye Phillip Marlowe — and one of the acknowledged masterpieces of film noir. Unfolded, there is a 12 30 cm. Tear which extends up from middle lower margin up above the name “MANDER” in actor credits, mended on verso with brown paper, and there are some scattered creases and minor scuffs. Colors are bright, and this is a very rare poster to find unfolded, VERY GOOD. It must come back in the same condition as it was sent. AUTHENTICATION: My name is Walter Reuben. Fantastic vintage 1-sheet for one of the best 007 films directed by Terence Young. This is an early, 1968 German first re-release 1-sheet in top condition! The quality is as good as the 1963 first release poster and much superior to the 1970s or 1980s re-release posters offered most of the time. Please check the comparison photo I uploaded my 1968 poster on the left, the late 1970s poster on the right. Check the ladies for instance. Condition of this item: A- , unused, unfolded , vintage German 1 sheet poster (23×33 inch), no pinholes, first re-release 1968. German lobby cards: the cards printed before the end of the 1960’s mostly were real glossy photographies, printed on very heavy paperstock. Often hand – tinted / hand – colored. Due to the fact, that these LC’s were expensive to fabricate, only some dozens of those sets were printed. These LC’s are highly collectable, some sets contain up to 50 cards! (but mostly 20-30 cards). In the 70’s and 80’s hand coloring was a thing of the past and the sets also contained less cards: usually between 12 and 24. By now the size is down to 4 – 12 cards for new releases. The old cards measure approx. 9 x 12 inch ca. 23 x 29cm, by now the size is approx. 8 x 12 inch (20x24cm). US b/w – still / 8 x 10 – still : these are original American or English press stills to promote the films. Please note that all photos are vintage unless stated’not vintage! Color stills were printed on photographic paperstock from original slides or negatives. I only sell actual photos – no computer print – outs at all! Size: 8 x 10 inch (20 x 25cm).
